This grape strawberry smoothie is a must-try!

Why you’ll love it:

Red seedless grapes are juicy, sweet, and poppable into my mouthable! We always have them on hand for the kiddos and it was only a matter of time until they made it into one of my smoothies. I am hooked, and frankly, sad I didn’t use them sooner.

This strawberry grape smoothie is perfect. It’s only four ingredients and it doesn’t need any added sugar, since the grapes are so sweet. It screams summer! I had to make two since my daughter liked it so much.

Key Ingredients:

banana, red grapes, strawberries, and almond milk.

Banana – Bananas are naturally creamy and full of natural sugar, which makes them a great base for fruit smoothies. They give this strawberry and grape smoothie a creamy texture.

Frozen strawberries – Be sure to use frozen strawberries to give this smoothie a frosty texture!

Red grapes – Grapes are low in calories and high in antioxidants! They’re much sweeter than strawberries, but don’t overpower them.

Unsweetened almond milk – My favorite liquid base for smoothies! It’s low in calories with no added sugar and a creamy texture. I typically buy almond breeze or a store brand.

How to make a strawberry grape smoothie:

Smoothies are so quick and simple to make! I highly recommend a high-speed blender for the smoothest blend. I have a 1000 watt Ninja and it does a great job! I’ve had it for 8+ years with minimal issues.

Combine ingredients: In the base of your high-speed blender, combine the banana, frozen strawberries, red seedless grapes, and unsweetened almond milk.

Blend until smooth: Blend until thick, smooth, and pourable. The skins won’t blend fully but they’re hardly noticeable when you drink it.

Smoothie Making Tips:

  • Don’t add too much liquid. Red seedless grapes are 82 percent water, which means you don’t need much liquid to blend the smoothie. A half cup of liquid is the perfect amount. Any more and the smoothie will be too thin.
  • Use a ripe banana! Underripe green bananas are chalky and bitter. Be sure to use a ripe yellow banana for the best flavor.
  • Rinse the grapes before you use them. Rinsing removes any bacteria or pesticides on the outside of the grapes.
  • If possible, use a high-speed blender for best results. High quality blenders have powerful motors to pulverize the frozen fruit until it’s smooth.

Strawberry Grape Smoothie Variations:

  • Yogurt – For a creamier blend and added protein, add a scoop of unsweetened Greek yogurt to the mix. If you’re dairy-free, leave it out or use dairy-free yogurt.
  • Nut butter – Nut butter is a good option for plant-based protein. Peanut butter pairs well with strawberries and grapes. Think peanut butter and jelly!
  • Greens – If you want to sneak in some greens, add a handful of baby spinach. The leaves are tender and mild so they blend well.

Storage Instructions:

I don’t recommend storing smoothies. They lose their frosty texture in the fridge. However, I always recommend turning leftover smoothies into smoothie pops!

Pour any leftover smoothie into a popsicle mold and add popsicle sticks. Freeze overnight, then enjoy or transfer to a freezer-safe bag. My kids love smoothie pops!
