Mango Kiwi Smoothie:

This mango kiwi smoothie is refreshing and creamy! If you don’t add kiwi to your smoothies yet, I highly recommend it. They add a bright, zippy punch and they’re packed with vitamin C.

Vitamin C protects your healthy cells from free radicals and promotes a healthy immune system. It’s also great for your skin! Yes, please!

This smoothie combines sweet mango, tart kiwi, and protein-rich Greek yogurt for a sweet and satisfying smoothie!

Key Ingredients:

  • Banana – I’m fond of bananas in smoothies! They’re naturally sweet and creamy so you don’t need lots of added sugar to get a sweet smoothie.
  • Kiwi – Make sure to use ripe kiwi! Under-ripe kiwi taste sour and slightly bitter. Ripe kiwi are sweet-tart like a pineapple.
  • Mango Greek yogurt – For an added boost of mango flavor and protein! I used Chobani’s mango Greek yogurt.
  • Frozen mango – You can buy a big bag of frozen mango chunks at Costco for a steal.
  • Almond milk – My favorite plant-based liquid for smoothies! It’s low-calorie and creamy with a neutral flavor. I typically get off-brand or almond breeze.

How to Make this Mango Smoothie:

It’s super duper simple!

  • Combine ingredients: Add the ingredients to your blender. I always start with the soft ingredients, i.e. the banana, yogurt, and kiwi. It’s easier on the blades.
  • Blend: Start your blender on low speed, then gradually increase the speed to high. I have a Vitamix and this reduces stalling.
  • Taste: Give the smoothie a taste before you pour it into a glass! It’s easy to adjust the flavor/consistency. If you like it sweeter, add a teaspoon of maple syrup.
  • Serve: Pour it into glasses and enjoy it cold!

Variations:

This mango smoothie is easy to customize! Here’s a few of my favorite additions:

  • Dairy-free: Swap the Greek yogurt with a dairy-free alternative! There’s so many options available.
  • Protein powder – Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder for extra protein.
  • Hemp hearts – Add 1 tablespoon of hemp hearts for plant-based protein and omega-3’s. I bought a big bag at Costco and it’s lasted me months.
  • Greens – Add a large handful of baby spinach. You won’t even know it’s in there.
  • Fruit – Swap part of the mango with strawberry or pineapple!

Storage:

Smoothies are best enjoyed fresh, when they’re frosty and cold. You can store it in the fridge for up to 4 hours without much change in texture or flavor.

Or for longer storage, make mango kiwi smoothie pops! Just pour the smoothie into popsicle molds, add popsicle sticks, and freeze overnight.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 2 kiwis, peeled
  • ½ cup mango Greek yogurt
  • 2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • cup unsweetened almond milk

Instructions
 

  • In the pitcher of a high-speed blender, combine the banana, kiwi, mango yogurt, frozen mango, and almond milk.
  • Turn the blender on low speed, then gradually increase the speed to high, Blend until smooth.
  • If the smoothie's too thick, add a splash more almond milk and blend to incorporate.
  • Pour into glasses and enjoy immediately!
